GRANDMASTER FLASH RELEASES A NEW ALBUM

Hip Hop legend GRANDMASTER FLASH is set to release a new album on February 23rd 2009. The record will be titled 'The Bridge: Concept Of A Culture' and features many collaborators including: Busta Rhymes, Snoop Dogg, KRS ONE, Big Daddy Kane, Q Tip, Princess Superstar and DJ Kool.

This is Flash's first high profile studio album in over 20 years! It was recorded during 2007/08 at his studio in New York. The theme throughout the album is the idea of global hip hop, and how the music is translated throughout the world, flash explains: 'Wherever I travel as a DJ, I see the incredible power of this artform, I am constantly amazed by it. That's the line that runs through the album - we speak many languages and come from many cultures but, wherever I go in the world, there is one universal culture of hip hop.'

As well as writing and recording his album Flash has also been busy writing his own biography with the help of David Ritz. The book is called 'The Adventures Of Grandmaster Flash: My Life, My Beats' and it available now.
