GRAHAM: 'MEADOWS IS AS GOOD AS SCORSESE'
This Is England star STEPHEN GRAHAM is urging the film's director SHANE MEADOWS to make Hollywood movies, as he's convinced he can make as big an impact as MARTIN SCORSESE.
Graham, who is wowing British critics with the lead performance in the hard-hitting film, worked with Scorsese on 2002s Gangs of New York and sees similarities between the Taxi Driver director and Meadows.
He explains, "I love the fact that Shane is making these brilliant little British films, but I would love to see him tackle a big Hollywood epic. You know, a big f**king GBP70 million movie.
"I have no doubt it would be a success. Scorsese can do it, so why can't Shane? They've very similar. Not only are they both short, tubby b*stards, but they are also great filmmakers."
