GOYER'S FINISHED WITH THE FLASH
BATMAN BEGINS and BLADE writer DAVID GOYER has given up in bringing a third superhero comic book to the big screen, after his version of THE FLASH was rejected by movie giants WARNER BROS.
The writer was thought to be a safe choice to bring the DC comics superhero to the big screen after his last two franchise hits - and even brought in his BLADE TRINITY star RYAN REYNOLDS to play the lead in the film - but now says it's all over.
Speaking on his MySpace page, he says, "Well, I've been waiting a few months to relate this news - but I am sad to say that my version of The Flash is dead at WB. The God's honest truth is that WB and myself simply couldn't agree on what would make for a cool Flash film.
"I'm quite proud of the screenplay I turned it. I threw my heart into it and I genuinely think it would've been the basis of a ground-breaking film. But as of now, the studio is heading off in a completely different direction."
Reynolds had already expressed fears the movie will never see the light of day last month (JAN07), adding: "I get asked about it all the time. It's in the hands of the dark overlords of Warner Brothers... If they do make it, I'd still love to be a part of it."
