GOODMAN 'SCARED TO DEATH' OF BROADWAY RETURN

Actor JOHN GOODMAN is "scared to death" of returning to the stage in Broadway play WAITING FOR GODOT - after years of living in laid back New Orleans, Louisiana.
Goodman will star opposite Nathan Lane and Bill Irwin as Pozzo in Samuel Beckett's famous play next month (Apr09) - thirty years after making his Broadway debut in Loose Ends.
The 56-year-old actor admits he's struggling to cope with his new rigorous regime after growing accustomed to a more slow-paced lifestyle.
He says, "Now that I'm here, the truth is I am scared to death. I've been learning my lines in places like (restaurant) P.J. Clarke's. They got the best hamburgers in the world. Opening on Broadway is like jumping into a mix master. But I'm getting my sea legs back. Even started shopping at the nearby supermarket. I mean, schlepping big bags of groceries to store up in your cave is like being in Afghanistan."
The play kicks off a run at New York's Studio 54 on 30 April (09).
