GOO GOO DOLLS TO PAY TRIBUTE TO CANCER VICTIM
Rockers the GOO GOO DOLLS are to pay tribute to a friend who lost her battle with cancer last month (OCT06) by performing at a benefit concert staged to raise cash for a scholarship in her name. The group will perform at Cleveland, Ohio's House of Blues on 6 December (06) to raise cash for the Rebecca Reichert Scholarship, which has been established at Ball State University. Rebecca Reichert, a music teacher who graduated from Ball State, was a personal friend of the band's drummer MIKE MALININ. She died of cancer in October (06) at the age of 24. Before her death, Reichert created the scholarship in hopes of providing full tuition to music students.
