GOLDBERG WANTS CRUISE TO WIN HER ANOTHER OSCAR

WHOOPI GOLDBERG is desperate to land a movie role alongside TOM CRUISE - because she's convinced he'll help her pick up her second Oscar.
Goldberg is mystified Cruise has never received the highest acting accolade himself, because he has helped numerous co-stars lift statuettes.
She cites Cuba Gooding Jr's Best Supporting Actor award for his role alongside Cruise in Jerry Maguire; and Dustin Hoffman's Best Actor prize for Rain Man, in which he played the star's autistic brother.
The actress - who won her Oscar for 1990 movie Ghost - says, "People forget what a good actor he is.
"One of the reasons I want to work with him is that he seems to gather Academy Award nominations for the people he works with."
