GOLD SUCCESS HINTS AT NEW ABBA REVIVAL

The Abba revival is refusing to go away just yet after the group's greatest hits was confirmed as the UK's top-selling album of the last week.

Gold: Greatest Hits swaps places with Coldplay's Viva la Vida at the top of the albums chart to become the country's oldest-ever number one.

First released in the early 1970s, Gold has now hit the top of the charts in four separate occasions – the first three all in the 1990s.

The Swedish pop group are enjoying the latest in a long line of revivals due to the box office success of Mamma Mia! starring Meryl Streep and Pierce Brosnan.

The UK also has a new number one in the singles chart, with Kid Rock's All Summer Long replacing Dizzee Rascal and Calvin Harris' Dance Wiz Me.

New entries abound in the top ten with Katy Perry – I Kissed a Girl in at four and If This is Love by the Saturdays debuting at number eight.
