GIRLS ALOUD STARS HITS BACK AT 'BULLY' DJ CHRIS MOYLES
Nicola Roberts has attacked BBC Radio 1 disc jockey Chris Moyles for his consistent jibes at her on his breakfast show.
The Girls Aloud singer has frequently been the butt of the DJ's jokes, stemming from the girl band's inception in 2002, when he said he "fancied all of them, apart from the ginger one".
And the northern radio host attacked Nicola's purported sullen demeanour this week, saying: "What's with the long face, horsey chops? Give us a smile."
In response, Nicola told Heat magazine: "This argument doesn't bother me any more. I've grown out of it it's six years old."
She continued: "His obsession with me needs to stop. I don't care what he says about me, but what bothers me is that there are loads of people being bullied for the way they look or act they are made to feel s*** about themselves because they don't conform to how society wants them to be.
"I have bright red hair, pale skin and, yeah, I can be quite shy, but that doesn't mean I'm rude or miserable. I'm growing up, I'm learning and I'm slowly becoming more confident."
Nicola's fellow band member and current X Factor judge Cheryl Cole declared this week that she can no longer listen to Moyles' breakfast show.
"I find what he says about my friend really offensive and upsetting," she said.
Girls Aloud's fifth album is released in November.
