GIRL TRIO SUGABABES SIGN TO JAY-Z'S RECORD LABEL
Sugababes have become the first British pop act to sign for Jay-Z's Roc-A-Fella Records.
The three-piece agreed a deal with the hip-hop star in London last month, it has been announced.
Currently working on their seventh album, which they have described as a "biggie" on their website, the trio -whose current lineup is Heidi Range, Keisha Buchanan and Amelle Berrabah - are classed as the most successful female act of the 21st century, having scored 16 top ten singles, seven Brit nominations and five million album sales.
The Push the Button stars have booked recording sessions in Miami and Los Angeles, according to their official website, and are planning to work the same production teams behind the success of Beyonce and Rihanna.
They also revealed on Twitter this week that they are working with RedOne, Lady GaGa's producer.
The news of Sugababes' deal with Roc-A-Fella came a day after the man who attacked Berrabah's ex-boyfriend in 2007 was jailed for 12 years.
Jimmy Wenman assaulted Freddie Fuller with a sharp object outside a pub on Christmas Eve 2007, leaving Berrabah's then boyfriend needing hours of life-saving surgery on his arms and legs.
