GIBSON & FOSTER TO REUNITE

MEL GIBSON is reportedly set to make his acting comeback - in a film directed by his MAVERICK co-star JODIE FOSTER.
The Hollywood actor has shunned movie roles in the last few years, preferring instead to focus on his work as a director.
But Gibson is reportedly eyeing a return to a leading role with his pal Foster, who has signed up to helm The Beaver, about a depressed man who finds solace in a hand-puppet, according to Variety.com.
Funnyman Jim Carrey was previously rumoured to be in the running to star in the film.
It will mark Foster's third outing as a director after 1991's Little Man Tate and Home for the Holidays in 1995.

As you choose to continually remind us of Mel Gibson's drunk driving arrest as if it were relevant some how (by posting his mug shot with about every story you publish), here is a comment relating to his arrest in 2006: “People should stop misrepresenting their personal opinion that MG is a lightly inflammable bigot as a rational and established fact. Those are wrongful and prejudiced assumptions. First of all, you have to believe that people are never unfair, or that drunk people are never unfair, to consider the type of incident that took place in 2006 proof that a person is a bigot, and that level of naivety would make you unfit to judge in the first place. Secondly, this incident was in reality a once in a lifetime event in over 50 years of life that shouldn't be misrepresented as the opposite, a characteristic trait. Some people keep abusing it that way despite that. However, when people have to twist a point to make a point not only do they not have a point, they have also cast doubt on their motives and/or ability to reason in a balanced and fair way. And lets face it, if misbehaving at one point in our lives, in an extreme and unusual set of circumstances, would make us hypocritical, untrustworthy human beings who do not care about other people, not a lot of us could honestly claim to be decent and respectable anymore - including most of those attacking MG. These people are a least great at applying double standards. Is it an unlikely scenario that a person would take cheap shots under the circumstances MG was in at the time? No, it is in fact a very likely one. Who could honestly claim that they wouldn't feel attacked and bullied if ever arrested, it is just an instinctive and natural reaction to having our freedom taken away - whether the reason is just or not. And when are we all most likely to take a cheap shot; when we feel bullied ourselves. Additionally, when is it most likely that we give in to that type of emotion instead of stopping ourselves and letting our sense of fairness rule the way; when our defenses are down, FOR INSTANCE because we have been drinking. That is what MG meant when he said it was the stupid ramblings of a drunkard. That is what he apologized for and felt bad about; having been hurtful and unfair. More and more people, fans and non-fans alike, are increasingly alarmed by the amount of hatred and callous condescension coming MG's way. More and more people are commenting on it. Contrary to MG, who misbehaved on one occasion and apologized for it later, these people go on and on and show no remorse at all. The time that we are willing to take these continual attacks seriously is over. It is beginning to look a lot like bigotry itself. Whether MG himself is a bigot remains to be seen, one thing is clear however, many of those attacking him are at least themselves infected with the disease they accuse him of having: a hateful attitude with no respect for or interest in balancing facts and emotions (or even gathering and considering them unbiasedly before judging)”. And especially those who claim to be (warning) against a person because he is SUPPOSEDLY prejudiced and hateful should not engage in such mentalities themselves. It puts their OWN character, motives and ability to reason fairly in a questionable light, it makes one doubt whether THEY can be trusted.
