GIBSON DENIES INVOLVEMENT IN MISSY'S BIRTHDAY BRAWL

LATEST: Acclaimed choreographer LAURIE ANN GIBSON has denied she was involved in a nightclub brawl at MISSY ELLIOTT's recent birthday party - insisting it was "an unfortunate situation".
The rapper was hosting her 37th birthday celebrations in New York last weekend (05-06Jul08) when her make-up artist Deborah Padilla was arrested for allegedly assaulting a waitress who had reportedly tried to get close to fellow guest Busta Rhymes.
Making The Band star Gibson admits she was present at Marquee nightclub but didn't realise the incident had occurred until she read about it in a newspaper the following day.
She tells Allhiphop.com, "When I read the paper I was in shock. I was with Missy having a great time and didn't even know there was a fight. I found out later it was my make-up artist and I got to her the next day."
Gibson also defended Padilla's reaction - insisting the waitress shouldn't have "disrespected" her.
She adds, "She (the waitress) pushed her and Deborah's reaction was, 'I'm from Brooklyn, you're not going to just be pressing up on me and disrespecting me.'
"It was an unfortunate situation but I don't roll with people who start trouble. She's an amazing makeup artist and more importantly a strong black woman. It was just a case of someone feeling themselves at a nightclub and getting extra (being difficult), which happens all the time to a lot of us in entertainment."
