GIBB HOSPITALISED AFTER ALLERGIC REACTION
The BEE GEES' 50th anniversary celebration was thrown into jeopardy when singer ROBIN GIBB was admitted to hospital after suffering an allergic reaction last month (Oct09).
Siblings Robin and Barry, the surviving members of the singing trio, are currently marking their half-century in the music industry by releasing a new greatest hits compilation.
But their promotional campaign was nearly halted after 59-year-old Robin was forced to seek emergency care at John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, England on 11 October (09).
While at the medical centre, the Stayin' Alive hitmaker was said to have suffered a series of fits and lashed out at staff members, reports Britain's Daily Mirror.
Manager Mick Garbett confirms, "He had an allergic reaction to medication he was taking."
Robin's twin brother Maurice, the third member of the band, died in 2003 after complications from a twisted intestine.
