GIBB ATTACKS BRITAIN'S DRINKING CULTURE

BEE GEES star ROBIN GIBB has criticised Britain's culture of binge drinking - calling on the government to take action to tackle the problem.
The singer has a home in Thame in Oxfordshire, England, and insists he is fed up with seeing drunk people wandering the streets late at night.
Britain relaxed drinking laws in 2006 - allowing pubs, bars and nightclubs to serve alcohol around the clock.
And Gibb - who has been teetotal for more than 20 years - now wants the U.K. government to tighten up restrictions on alcohol sales to cut down on booze-fuelled crime in the country.
He says, "We have total anarchy on the streets. Why are ministers feigning surprise? Booze is available all day and we have a binge-drinking culture. There must be 15 pubs in Thame and that is too many for a small town.
"Drinking is allowed all day, and at night the police cars are out in force with their sirens wailing. I gave up drinking 20 years ago and I don't miss the stuff. I dislike drunks, you cannot reason with them."
