GETTY'S EMMY AUCTION ANGERS OFFICIALS
Emmys chiefs are fuming over an online auction of late actress ESTELLE GETTY's award for her supporting role in THE GOLDEN GIRLS.
Executives at the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences are battling with bosses at eBay.com to remove the star's 1988 Emmy award from the website, reports Variety.
The Academy's guidelines state statuettes must be returned to the organisation if the winner or their heirs no longer want the award.
However, the golden prize has been placed up for auction by a private bidder with a starting price of $15,000 (£10,000).
Getty died last year (08) at the age of 84.
As WENN went to press, there were no bidders on the item.
