Music producer DAVID GEST has launched a scathing attack on his estranged wife LIZA MINNELLI, referring to the CABARET star as "it" and "fat". Gest, currently starring on UK reality TV show I'M A CELEBRITY... GET ME OUT OF HERE!, shared an intimate chat with fellow contestants MYLEENE KLASS and former BUSTED singer MATT WILLIS last night (14NOV06) in which he took credit for turning the "pug nosed" Minnelli into a star again. Spreading his arms out, he claimed the singer was "this big", adding, "I transformed her. It's the truth." Gest had removed his microphone for the frank discussion around the Australian campfire, but his harsh words were still picked up. He also recalled his horror at seeing a clip of their wedding kiss for the first time saying, "Three months after we were married, we were in bed and I turned on the TV and it was a greatest weddings special and number one was our wedding, and there goes that kiss. I'd never seen it. I pulled up the covers. "It looked like a shark going in, it was so embarrassing. "And I was haunted by that kiss because people aren't used to that. When I saw it on TV I was petrified." Gest and Minnelli married in 2001, but they split acrimoniously two years later (03).
