LATEST: DAVID GEST has slammed U.K. television network ITV over allegations he was fired, claiming he quit the channel to concentrate on other projects. Liza Minnelli's ex-husband signed a one-year contract with ITV after impressing producers with his appearance on British reality show I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here last year (06). Earlier this month (Jul07) Gest was reportedly dropped after The David Gest Show and Grease Is The Word struggled to attract viewers - but the star claims he severed ties with ITV due to other work commitments. He says, "My lawyers negotiated an early release so I could host (chat show) The Friday Night Project on Channel Four."
