LIZA MINNELLI's estranged husband DAVID GEST has "no regrets" about his short-lived marriage to the CABARET star, despite accusing her of domestically abusing him during their two year union. Gest, who recently appeared on British reality TV show I'M A CELEBRITY... GET ME OUT OF HERE! (NOV06), is currently involved in a bitter divorce battle with the Hollywood star, whom he married in 2001. He says, "I loved Liza when I married her. What was not to love? She was a very sexy, sensuous woman. But she was an alcoholic. I straightened her out, got her fit and got her career back on track, but, sadly, it didn't last. "The problem was that I married a woman who was an alcoholic and she became violent towards me. "Of course (I don't regret it). I have the utmost respect for her talent. She's a wonderful singer. An incredible actress."
