GEORGE MICHAEL BIDS FOR CHRISTMAS NUMBER ONE

Pop icon GEORGE MICHAEL has launched a bid for his first festive hit since LAST CHRISTMAS 25 years ago.
Michael has signed a new one-single record deal with music giants Island for the release of December Song, which will hit stores and the internet on 13 December (09).
Last Christmas, recorded with his former group Wham!, sold over one million copies and reached the number two spot in the U.K. charts in 1984. It was beaten to number one by Band Aid's Do They Know It's Christmas.
Michael will have hot competition for the coveted Christmas number one; Sting, Bob Dylan and Neil Diamond are all preparing festive releases too.
