GELDOF'S ROW WITH NEIGHBOURS
SIR BOB GELDOF has been threatened with legal action over plans to build a flat to house his ageing father. The 54-year-old former BOOMTOWN RATS singer was granted permission to build a basic apartment, but he now wants to include ensuite and kitchen facilities in the extension to his 12th Century mansion in Kent, England. A spokesman for the campaigning rocker - who is determined to move his 92-year-old father, also called BOB, from Ireland to England - says, "His father's health is deteriorating and he wants the work done as quickly as possible." However, Geldof's neighbours, ANDREW and ANN OSBOURNE, have threatened to take him to court if refurbishments go ahead, arguing, "The eaves will be hanging over our garden. They can't build the extension without coming on to our land - that's trespass. If any builder comes on to my land I will take them to court for trespass. "Mr Geldof is known internationally for his good works but he has shown disregard for the welfare and health of two pensioners who are his neighbours. In our view, this new proposal is far different from the previous one that it should be the subject of a new planning application. The proposal is getting out of control. If need be, we will seek an injunction at the local county court to stop it going ahead."
