GEFFEN ATTACKS GAYS FOR NOT LOBBYING AFRICAN-AMERICANS

Music and movie mogul DAVID GEFFEN insists gays only have themselves to blame for the new same-sex marriage ban in California - because they didn't lobby the state's African-American community for support.
As a result, the gay DreamWorks executive fears black people voted against same-sex nuptials last week (04Nov08) on religious grounds - and it was that vote that cost the gay community their marriages.
Geffen tells website TheDailyBeast.com, ”That was our mistake. So many African-Americans don’t look at gay marriage as a civil rights issue, they look on it as a religious one.
"And we, for whatever reason…fear? Arrogance? Complacency? We did not do enough outreach to them. We need to begin a dialogue with them, because we should be putting this back on the ballot every election every year until we win.”
