GARZA FACING ASSAULT AND DRUG CHARGES

LOS LONELY BOYS bassist JOEY 'JOJO' SACARAIS GARZA was arrested yesterday (22JUL06) and charged with marijuana possession and assault. The 26-year-old was in Austin, Texas with his sibling-bandmates preparing for a concert when police swooped. According to local authorities, officers were called out to a disturbance at the Omni Hotel in downtown Austin. On arrival, they discovered Garza and a woman alone in his room. Police spokeswoman Laura Albrecht confirmed that she had been assaulted. They charged the musician with assault causing bodily injury and possession of less than 2 ounces of marijuana. The Grammy award-nominated artist was released from Travis County Jail on bail hours later.
