GARCIA'S WIDOW SUES OVER UNPUBLISHED TAPES
JERRY GARCIA's widow has launched a legal action in an attempt to regain control of unpublished recordings of the GRATEFUL DEAD star's performances.
DEBORAH KOONS GARCIA filed her lawsuit against the limited liability corporation made up of the late rocker's beneficiaries - including herself - in California's Marin County Superior Court on 31 January (07).
In the lawsuit, Koons Garcia states her ambition to professionally restore the "Garcia Tapes", but alleges other members of the corporation have hindered her attempts to realise her dream.
This is the latest in a long line of lawsuits involving beneficiaries of Garcia's estate - some have sued Koons Garcia in an effort to maintain the corporation, while the TRUCKIN' star's daughter KEELIN NOEL GARCIA, 19, has also sued Koons Garcia for her allegedly shoddy financial management of his estate.
A court hearing has been set for 13 April (07).
Garcia died in 1995 after suffering a heart attack.
