GARCIA SUED FOR IDENTITY THEFT
Actor ANDY GARCIA is facing a $2.5 million (GBP1.25 million) lawsuit for allegedly mimicking a Californian man's life in his 2005 movie THE LOST CITY.
Garcia - who directed and starred in the movie - has been named in a lawsuit filed at Los Angeles Superior Court by Carole Lee Shulman, reports TMZ.com.
Shulman claims Garcia stole her husband Eddie "Shu" Shulman's identity in the movie which follows a Cuban nightclub owner as he flees the country's oppressive regime for New York.
She is suing Garcia for "research without permission and marketing of life's events for profit without consent".
