GARCIA ESTATE SUED OVER LIVE RECORDING WITH LATE MUSICIAN
The estate of late GRATEFUL DEAD frontman JERRY GARCIA is facing a lawsuit from the family of a deceased keyboardist - over the rights to a 2004 album which featured a live performance by the pair.
The estate of Merl Saunders is suing the Garcia family, with officials claiming they did not find out about the album until after its release, and has equal rights to the music.
Saunders' estate is seeking more than $100,000 (GBP68,030) in the case.
Garcia died of a heart attack in 1995.
The federal lawsuit was filed on Monday (29Dec08), according to TMZ.com.
