GALLERY WHERE LENNON MET ONO RECREATED IN LONDON
The 1960s art space where JOHN LENNON first met YOKO ONO was revived yesterday (20NOV06) with the unveiling of a new exhibition at London gallery Riflemaker. Mayfair conceptual art space Indica was financially backed by Lennon's BEATLES bandmate SIR PAUL MCCARTNEY and run by MARIANNE FAITHFULL's then husband JOHN DUNBAR. Indica was open between 1965 and 1967, and Lennon met Ono there in November 1966 when the Japanese artist had an exhibition on display. The Riflemaker Becomes Indica exhibition will display works by Ono, JULIO LE PARC and MARK BOYLE.
