Lady GaGa was due to perform with Michael Jackson as the opening act at his ill-fated THIS IS IT comeback shows.
The King of Pop died last summer (Jun09) after suffering a cardiac arrest just weeks before he was due to begin his 50-date residency at London's O2 Arena.
Gaga reveals she had agreed to be one of Jackson's warm-up acts, and was even hoping to perform onstage with him.
In a pre-recorded chat with U.S. talk show host Larry King, Gaga says, "You know, it's always very difficult because I don't necessarily like to talk about those very personal things that happened. But I guess I can speak about it now. I was actually asked to open for Michael on his tour. We were going to open for him at the O2 and we were working on making it happen. I believe there was some talk about lots of the openers doing duets with Michael on stage.
"But Michael's death was devastating for me regardless of whether or not I was supposed to go on tour with him. He's such an inspiration and a remarkable human being."
King's interview with Gaga airs in the U.S. on Tuesday (01Jun10).
