GABRIEL TO RECEIVE CHARITY AWARD
Rocker PETER GABRIEL will be honoured for his charitable work at an Amnesty International event in London on Wednesday (10Sep08).
The former Genesis star will be handed the charity's Ambassador of Conscience Award by U2 rocker The Edge.
The award is in recognition of Gabriel's work for the human rights charity - he worked with the organisation on the 1986 Conspiracy of Hope Tour, a string of benefit concerts held across the U.S.
He also founded his own human rights charity, Witness.
Gabriel, 58, will join impressive company with the honour - previous recipients include Nelson Mandela and U2.
