GABRIEL TO AUCTION OFF BIKO LYRIC SHEET FOR GAY RIGHTS CHARITY
PETER GABRIEL has donated a handwritten sheet of lyrics from his 1980 anthem BIKO to CYNDI LAUPER's gay rights charity.
The item will go under the hammer at the True Colors Fund Summer Online auction later this month (Jul09).
The song was written as a tribute to South African anti-apartheid veteran Steve Biko, who was killed by police officers while in custody for political reasons in 1977.
