GABRIEL FINISHES ALBUM AFTER 17 YEARS
Rocker PETER GABRIEL has finally finished work on his new album BIG BLUE BALL, almost 20 years after he started on it.
The LP comprises material the former Genesis singer recorded in three sessions that took place in 1991, 1992 and 1995 - featuring duets with Sinead O'Connor and Tim Finn.
After the songs sat gathering dust for more than a decade, Gabriel has called in Waterboys frontman Karl Mallinger to help him finish it off - and it's due for release next year (09).
Gabriel tells Uncut magazine of one of the recording sessions, "We had this week of invited guests, people from all around the world, fed by music and a 24 hour café.
"It was a giant playpen, a bring your own studio party. There'd be a studio set up on the lawn, in the garage, in someone's bedroom as well as the seven rooms we had available".
