FURTADO RECORDS FIRST SPANISH ALBUM
NELLY FURTADO has overcome her fear of expressing herself in Spanish and is recording her first Spanish language album.
The PROMISCUOUS singer decided to follow in the footsteps of other stars who have had successful Spanish albums including CHRISTINA AGUILERA, SHAKIRA and JENNIFER LOPEZ.
She tells MTV News, "I'm in the midst of recording a Latin album. It's like, 'Wow, I'm writing a song in Spanish!' It's really bizarre, but really great."
Furtado, who grew up speaking Portuguese, didn't learn Spanish until she was 14-years-old.
Although she has sung a few songs in Spanish before, including TE BUSQUE on LOOSE, this is the first time she's attempted to write songs from scratch.
She adds, "I feel like a little kid again, because it's a whole new language!"
