FRY POSTPONES DRIVING BAN FOR TV ROLE
British comedian STEPHEN FRY pleaded with a judge to delay a driving ban - so he could drive a car on screen without breaking the law.
The GOSFORD PARK star was charged with speeding in May last year (06), but an immediate ban would have left TV bosses in turmoil, as his role in drama series KINGDOM required him to drive a vintage Alvis motor.
He says, "I was caught two weeks before filming and it would have been a disaster if I wasn't able to drive during filming.
"Fortunately I got a lawyer to plead for the case to be put off after filming and I consequently lost my licence at the hearing in December (06)."
Fry was fined GBP150 ($292.50) and banned from driving for six months for the offence.
