FROST/NIXON STARS AT LONDON FILM FESTIVAL OPENING

The stars of Ron Howard's Frost/Nixon will today attend the film's world premiere as the 52nd London Film Festival officially opens.

Michael Sheen and Frank Langella, as well as Howard, will be in Leicester Square for the gala screening, which comes three months before the film goes on general release in the UK.

The film is a faithful adaptation of Peter Morgan's play of the same name, with both Sheen and Langella reprising their roles as David Frost and Richard Nixon respectively for the big screen.

In the movie, a battle of wits ensues between highflying BBC reporter Frost and disgraced US president Nixon during a series of interviews filmed in 1977.

Over the next two weeks festivalgoers and film-lovers will be treated to some of the world's best new releases, with gala showings of Quantum of Solace and Oliver Stone's George Bush biopic W both on show.

In 15 days time the festival will be closed by the premiere of Danny Boyle's Slumdog Millionaire.
