FRESH PRINCE IMMORTALISED

Will Smith has joined Marilyn Monroe, Frank Sinatra and Ozzy Osbourne in being immortalised in cement on Hollywood's Walk of Fame.

Hundreds of fans turned out to watch the Fresh Prince of Bel Air star beatbox and cheer his way through the ceremony at the legendary Grauman's Chinese Theatre.

"I'm humble, I'm honoured, my heart is just beating right now," the 39-year-old said afterwards.

"I don't really understand it - I'm not used to feeling like that ... There's something in the concrete about being etched into the fibre of Hollywood."

The Ali actor encouraged the crowd to chant his name and thanked his fans for making the trip.

"It inspires me when I look around and I see all of you coming out here to support me and honour my family like this. It makes me feel like I'm not doing enough, it makes me feel like to have all of this I've gotta change the world."

Smith's friend Tom Cruise was among the crowd as the former rapper added his hand and footprints to the pavement, a gesture of which Smith was immensely appreciative.

"I just love his commitment, I didn't know he was going to be here today, when he says he's somebody's friend he doesn't take that lightly, he really means it, he shows up and works hard and he makes me want to work hard and be better so I appreciate the inspiration," he said.

Smith's new movie I Am Legend hits UK screens on December 26th.
