FRATELLIS RECALL 'WORST EVER GIG'

Scottish rockers THE FRATELLIS almost lost their record deal before they had even been signed - they played their most "shocking" gig just days before getting their contract. The Chelsea Dagger stars were performing to a crowd of record industry executives and talent spotters in Glasgow when they thought they had blown their chance of fame. Frontman Jon Fratelli recalls, "We hadn't played for a while and drummer Mince had broken his back and was still playing in a back brace. It was shocking. "We were also a bit drunk. The mic stand kept falling down and we had to stop playing twice. Then the guitar strings snapped. We had to find some spare strings and asked the audience if they had any."
