FOXY CELEBRATES A YEAR OF FREEDOM BY THANKING PRISON OFFICERS
Rapper FOXY BROWN celebrated a year of freedom by calling all the prison officers who looked after her during her time behind bars.
The star was jailed for 12 months in September 2007 for violating her probation stemming from a fight with two manicurists in a New York nail salon.
She was released on 18 April 2008, and marked a year of liberty last month, by thanking those who helped her during her darkest days in New York's Riker's Island prison.
Brown writes in her blog, "I gotta send special love to the seven c.o.'s (correctional officers) who took care of me through my whole bid, and who I personally called on April 18th to say thankyou. I'll never forget y'all."
And she has a message for the inmates she befriended, who are still locked up: "All my girls and guys locked up in the struggle and the ones I left behind in Riker's Island. Stay prayed up, chin up and chest out baby."
