FOUNDING VILLAGE PEOPLE STAR SUES GROUP
An original member of the VILLAGE PEOPLE has filed a lawsuit against the revamped band.Victor Willis, who was the police officer in the original line-up before leaving in 1983, alleges his voice and picture are still used to promote the disco group.
Willis is seeking at least $1 million (£675,000) in damages and a judge's order to prevent the band using his likeness or recordings.
He is suing the band's promoter Sixuvus Ltd along with the William Morris Agency, Can't Stop Productions and a number of venues where the group has performed.
