FORMER L.A. D.A. SAYS NETWORKS HAVE IMPOSED A BLACKOUT ON HIM

Former Los Angeles District Attorney Vincent Bugliosi, who successfully prosecuted Charles Manson and his "family" for the Tate-LaBianca murders in 1969 and whose book about the case, Helter Skelter , sold more than seven million copies, has accused the news media of subjecting his current book to a virtual blackout. The book, The Prosecution of George W. Bush for Murder , makes the case that if it can be demonstrated that President Bush deliberately lied to lead the nation into war with Iraq, he should be charged with murder for the deaths of the soldiers who died there. In an interview on CNN, which Bugliosi says is one of the few media outlets willing even to mention the book (he says that CNN's Larry King declined an interview), the former D.A. said "I've had national coverage for every one of my other books." He says that media outlets were "extremely interested in this book, but they're terrified of it." He claimed that it "was completely rejected across the board by network and cable." Nevertheless, the book has hit the New York Times best-seller list thanks to discussions of it on liberal blogs. "I'm very, very encouraged and very grateful to them," Bugliosi said.
