FORDHAM LAUNCHES TSUNAMI SCHOOL

British singer JULIA FORDHAM is celebrating after her charity efforts helped rebuild a southern Indian school flattened by the 2004 tsunami. Fordham re-recorded her 1988 hit HAPPY EVER AFTER with kids from Ashington School in her native England and urged fans to download the track to raise cash for the school project. The singer has just returned from India, where she was invited to help launch the revamped school. She says, "Incredibly, we did it! We did manage to rebuild the school in southern India that was wiped out by the tsunami." Fordham admits the chance to actually visit the school was "an incredible adventure". She adds, "The entire village of Sothikpukam were there to greet us with a band and all the excited school kids in their adorable green and white uniforms jumping up and down and clapping." New mum Fordham is now trying to raise further funds to build a library and provide books for the school.
