FOALS CONDEMN JOHNNY ROTTEN FROM STAGE
FOALS criticised the behaviour of John Lydon aka Johnny Rotten from the stage of the Latitude Festival this weekend.
The Oxford band, who have just released their debut album ANTIDOTES, drew a substantial crowd to the festival's Obelisk Arena yesterday (July 20th).
However, they took the opportunity to blast the former SEX PISTOLS frontman, apparently over an altercation the previous day, reports Uncut.
FOALS singer Yannis Philippakis told the crowd: "We were in Spain yesterday and we got in a fight with Johnny Rotten, I got handcuffed. This song is dedicated to Johnny Rotten and his meathead friends."
The band played a triumphant set featuring tracks such as Balloons and Red Sox Pugie, as well as their biggest hit to date Cassius.
Last month, the band played the Glastonbury Festival for the first time, with a set that was well received by fans and critics alike.
