FLAMING LIPS HIT LANDS OKLAHOMA HONOUR

FLAMING LIPS hit DO YOU REALIZE? has been voted Oklahoma's official state rock song.
The state's legislature has chosen the 2002 tune, recorded by the Oklahoma band, as its flag-flying tune.
Officials spent the past two years wading through recordings of state bands and artists to find the ideal track to play at official functions.
The song beat out Let’s Have a Party by Wanda Jackson, Leon Russell's Home Sweet Oklahoma and Heartbreak Hotel, which was written by Oklahoma local Mae Boren Axton.
In total, 458 tunes were selected and 10 made the shortlist last year (08).
More than 21,000 Oklahomans voted for their favourite track.
