FIVE JLS FANS INJURED IN FREE X FACTOR GIG
At least five teenage girls have been injured after being caught in a crush at a free concert by X Factor boyband finalists JLS.
Up to 3,000 people are thought to have crammed into the 1,600 capacity Fairfield Halls venue in Croydon, south London, last night.
The London ambulance service said it had been called to the scene shortly before the gig began at 16:30 GMT.
Three patients, two of whom were suffering from abdominal pain and breathing difficulties, were treated at the scene, while two were taken to the Mayday hospital, one for a hand injury, for further treatment.
One fan told the Croydon Guardian that people were pushed against barriers at the front when groups of schoolchildren arrived.
"There was a pregnant woman in the crowd," she said. "It was horrible. I couldn't move. I couldn't get out."
Another teen said: "It was very scary. It was madness."
JLS which stands for Jack the Lad Swing will compete in the X Factor final with Eoghan Quigg and Alexandra Burke.
