FISHBURNE WINS RIGHTS TO THE ALCHEMIST
Actor LAURENCE FISHBURNE has won the movie rights to the much lauded novel THE ALCHEMIST.
The What's Love Got To Do With It actor was cast as the lead in 2003, but the film was never made.
However, the Hollywood star was smitten with the tome and not only has he acquired the movie rights, but he will direct, write and star in the film version too, reports Moviehole.net.
The book by Paulo Coelho is described as 'Harry Potter meets Indiana Jones', and focuses on a Spaniard's quest to find a hidden treasure.
