FISHBURNE RECEIVES HONORARY DOCTORATE

Actor LAURENCE FISHBURNE can add doctor to his resume after collecting an honorary degree from a prestigious U.S. university.
The Matrix star donned the traditional hat and gown for Howard University's graduation ceremony in Washington, D.C. last weekend (09-10May09), when he was presented with the academic accolade in recognition of his acting achievements.
He says, "I became a doctor. I received an honorary doctorate from Howard University last weekend in the humanities for my work as an artist and my contribution to society, which is pretty long, almost 40 years now. And now I'm Dr. Fishburne."
