FISCHER THANKS WELL-WISHERS

THE OFFICE star JENNA FISCHER has thanked fans for their support after she fractured her back in four places while falling down a flight of stairs in a New York bar last week (15May07). The actress, who plays Pam Beesly in the U.S. comedy, was taken to St Vincent's Hospital in Manhattan after the fall at Buddakan. The 33-year-old has been "touched" by the sheer number of messages she has received from well-wishers. Fischer tells People.com, "I am very touched by the outpouring of support from my fans. My friends and family and everyone at NBC are taking very good care of me. I'm on the mend. I couldn't dream of a better network of support." The actress is expected to make a full recovery in time for the start of filming on the fourth season of The Office later this summer (07).
