FIELD SPEAKS OUT ABOUT CHILDHOOD ABUSE

Oscar winner SALLY FIELD is set to shock fans in the upcoming issue of OPRAH WINFREY's O magazine by revealing she was abused by her stepfather. The actress has never spoken out about her childhood anguish until now. Field tells magazine editor Gayle King her stepdad would occasionally hurl her across the family's living room if she upset or disagreed with him. She eventually decided enough was enough in her teens and stood on a table to challenge her father. King says, "Sally Field was 5' 2'' and he was 6' 4'' and she tells this story of literally standing on this tabel to look down to talk to him and she's afraid... but there was something inside her that knew that she had to speak up for herself... She's a survivor."
