FIASCO 'NOT PART OF JAPANESE CARTOON'

New post-punk band JAPANESE CARTOON have dismissed rumours LUPE FIASCO is part of the group, after fans became convinced vocals on two new tracks were courtesy of the rapper.
The Superstar hitmaker last year (08) announced plans to hang up his microphone after the forthcoming release of his third LP, LupE.N.D.
But his retirement plans were called into question when fans heard two songs posted on Japanese Cartoon's MySpace.com page, which featured vocals strikingly similar to Fiasco's, albeit in an English accent.
It was initially reported Fiasco was part of the band, making music under the alias Percival Fats.
But Japanese Cartoon have put a stop to the rumours by responding to the claims in their online blog.
They write, "Percival Fats (born Percival Hindenburg-Fats) is NOT Lupe Fiasco (born Wasalu Muhammad Jaco). Although he is a dear friend.
"Lupe does finance the band but is not, I repeat, not, the singer in Japanese Cartoon. He is, however, the producer and we value his participation very much."
