FESTIVAL CANCELLED OVER BJORK'S WITHDRAWAL
LATEST: Organiser have been forced to scrap an English music festival after headline act BJORK decided to drop out.
The Icelandic pop star had been due to play at the Wild In The Country Festival on 5 July (08), but she cancelled the gig citing "unprofessionalism" on the part of festival chiefs.
And now the entire event has been cancelled, amid rumours that other bands scheduled to play dropped out after hearing how Bjork would no longer be performing.
A spokesman for the festival has issued a statement apologising for the move, and promising fans a full refund, saying, "Unfortunately, Wild in the Country has become the latest in a series of festivals that have suffered from a unique and well-documented set of market forces this summer.
"We did everything possible to make the event happen and would like to apologise to all those who have purchased tickets, and for the inconvenience this cancellation may have caused."
