FERRY CAMPAIGNS FOR LONDON LANDMARK
Rock star BRYAN FERRY is waging war against the Mayor Of London over plans to turn a famous city landmark into a four-lane crossroads to make room for buses.
The ROXY MUSIC frontman is furious Sloane Square in exclusive Chelsea is being threatened by KEN LIVINGSTONE and council members in a multi-million pound redevelopment plan, and accuses the planners of unnecessary meddling.
He says, "First they make the buses too big, now they want to turn Sloane Square into a crossroads.
"Everybody who lives round there says it's great how it is. Improve it, but don't hack out all the trees. It's just really naff. Of course, Ken is backing it. He doesn't even drive a car."
The Ferry family are no strangers to political controversy - Bryan's son OTIS stormed London's Houses Of Parliament in 2004 in protest over anti-hunting legislation.
