FELDMAN BLAMES PARENTS FOR TROUBLED UPBRINGING
Former child star COREY FELDMAN blames his parents for pushing him into acting at an early age - and holds them responsible for his troubled life.
The Stand by Me star was thrust into the limelight aged three when he starred in a MCDonalds commercial and appeared in a string of television shows and films before his teenage years.
He struggled to cope with being in the public eye at such a young age, and later battled drug problems and the pain of being abused as a child.
And he claims his parents were at fault for encouraging his Hollywood career - and not allowing him to have a normal childhood.
Feldman says, "It wasn't the industry's fault, it was my parents' - they should have been more responsible and laid the groundwork for me to build a healthy adult life.
"I was fortunate enough to continue my career but that's due to my tireless dedication. Without my perseverance I wouldn't have made it. I was 17 and already I'd become a joke to some people.
"As with everything in life you're measured by your achievements and people like to point out your failures. Everyone recognised me so I couldn't just get a job at the local Blockbuster. It was a very difficult time."
