Swiss tennis ace ROGER FEDERER was named Sportsman of the Year at the Laureus World Sports awards in Barcelona, Spain last night (2APR07) - for a third year running. Federer beat Formula One driver MICHAEL SCHUMACHER and golfer TIGER WOODS to the title, which is voted by judges. Stunning world record-holding Russian pole vaulter YELENA ISINBAYEVA lifted the Sportswoman of the Year award at the starstudded ceremony. French Wimbledon tennis champion AMELIE MAURESMO won the Breakthrough of the Year award and rival SELENA WILLIAMS was awarded the Comeback of the Year award, after recovering from injury to win the Australian Open. Italy's World Cup-winning soccer players won Team of the Year.
